Hope Family Wines Treana Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

$39.99

A fantastic discovery from California's hottest regions, Paso Robles.  Treana is the perfect example of what this exciting region excels at: killer Cabernet/Syrah blends. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The goal of Treana Red is to deliver, vintage after vintage, the best Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine in Paso Robles. Blended with Syrah for a complete, mouth-filling experience, our Treana Red is crafted to keep company with any wine from any region at any price point on the world stage.  The result is a wine somewhere between Napa and Bordeaux, a full-throated, luxurious wine but one with finesse as well. “We walk the fine line all California winemakers walk,” says winemaker Austin Hope, “aiming for wine that’s not over the top, not all lushness, but with some grace and elegance.  The proof is in the bottle. To cite just one evaluation, the care and vision that go into Treana Red are the reason that Decanter magazine recently named the Treana Red one of the three best Regional Blends in the US—keeping good company indeed.

Fruit forward cab but not overly jammy. Reminds me a lot of 2011 Justin Cabernet Sauvignon. Pleasantly drinkable. Paired nicely with steak and rice pilaf. This bottle was given to me by a local distributor as a sample.

v16. Very nice. Soft Smokey meat and soft cedar nose. Juicy, blackberry fruit. Soft, tight, chalky pepper, mocha and leather finish. Nicely balanced.

This just had too much fruit for me…not what I would expect from a Cab.

Good. A little dry. Slightly heavier and sweeter than I wanted.

For $19 it is simply the best Cab I’ve ever tasted. I bought 2 cases. Have had 4-5 bottles. Let it breath for about 20 min and it’s amazing. Has a Isosceles taste to it. Lots of soft fruit and smooth finish. This drinks like a good $50 Cab. Have blind taste tested several friends. They have all been very impressed with it and absolutely blown away at the price.
