95 Points Hewitt is an up-and-coming Cult Cabernet from Napa Valley's Rutherford Bench. From Tom Rinaldi, former winemaker at Duckhorm, this should be on every Napa Cab collector's short list. Get the new release while it's available! 95 Points Robert Parker: "This is a brilliant wine from this well-placed vineyard in Rutherford, sitting right on the so-called Rutherford Bench, with a history of vines having been planted there as far back as 1880. There are 2,646 cases of this wine, which is a blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot that was aged 21 months in 85% new French oak. It is a big wine (15.3% natural alcohol) but shows no heat or hotness whatsoever. Dense purple to the rim, it offers a stunning nose of loamy soil, scorched earth, blackberry and black cherry with some allspice, clove and subtle oak. Hitting the palate, it’s clear the wine has great intensity, a full-bodied mouthfeel, superb richness and moderate tannin. A classic 2013 as well as a classic wine from Rutherford, it should be given 4-5 years of cellaring and drunk over the following 30 years."

Surprised this was available in the luxury suite to watch another Padres loss....and out of a plastic cup too. AAA quality baseball and sub par stems and it still performed extremely well. My first exposure to Hewitt and I liked it a lot. Full bodied, extracted blackberry and clove with nice round edges.

Superb. A well balanced mouthfeel with firm tannins supports an explosive pallet of deep bramble, cocoa, dusty forest floor, and light spices. A quintessential example of California Cabernet. Definitely partake if the opportunity arises.

Had the same bottle 3 weeks ago that opened up nicely. This stayed closed even after aeration and 6 hour decant. Darn...

Big, bold cab with requisite Rutherford dust. Love this! I’m sorry I lied to you all. I rated this 93 pop n pour and this is a solid 95 after three hours open.
