Tasting Notes: "How you ended up on top of this runaway boxcar full of blueberries, you don’t quite remember, but it’s flying down the tracks, through forests of fresh herbs and violet. The Thunderbird convertible alongside wants you to jump, so you do, seconds before the whole thing hits a plum and brown sugar warehouse. Two flips in the air, for good measure, and you land nimbly in the driver’s seat, riding so far into the sunset, you can’t even hear the director yell cut." Brix26 Inside Scoop: There are some fantastic small labels coming out of the Paso Robles wine country in California's Central Coast, and Herman Story winery is our latest "crush" (pun intended).  The style of wines are full-throttle, fruit forward bombastic style while keeping things balanced and delicious.  Like going right up to the point of over-the-top and stopping perfectly before it.  The 2014 Nuts & Bolts Syrah is a beautiful example of what small, hands-on winemakers like Herman Story are achieving with the varietal in Paso Robles.
