Hartley-Ostini Hitching Post Hometown Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir 2013

$19.99

The famous Pinot Noir from the movie Sideways! Very limited The Hitching Post 2013 Hometown Pinot Noir  is a fantastic value in Santa Barbara Pinot Noir.  HOMETOWN is Hitching Post's early bottling of Santa Barbara Pinot Noir that showcases the delicious fruit of young Pinot, and the balance and seduction of the vintage. This three valley blend replaces the Cork Dancer 7.1, with grapes sourced from the same vineyards near Los Alamos, Santa Maria, and Sta. Rita Hills.

Red cherry skin and plum/berry. Chocolate notes & dried cranberries. Palate is tart and kinda bitey.

This was a cool experiment, as Sam and I shared this same vintage in 2015. It was too hot back then, and while it's still a little tannic for my tastes, it has mellowed considerably. It's held onto its notes of chicory and hot cinnamon but smoothed them out with tart cranberry.

I've always had good luck with HP so I'll just keep going with them. Fresh cherries and spice on the nose. Very...smelly. That's a good thing. Oak, berries, a dollop of funk, and smoke. Five spice and flowers hanging out there, as well. Good acid with some bite on the finish. This is a baby, baby wine and fresh is the word of the day.

Crazy flavors compared to the other pinot niors of the evening. Not balanced, very funky. Interesting experience. Spicy nose, with hints of tire
