Petite Sirah is one of our favorite unheralded red varietals, and Girard consistently makes one of the best in Napa Valley. On the nose we see blackberry compote, figs and toasted spices reminiscent of the holidays. The palate is starting to express its dark fruit character accented with notes of plum, cranberry and toasty oak notes and hints of hazelnuts. The wine will benefit with some cellar time allowing the bright acidity to integrate with the fruit & oak character.

A nice petite. Almost cab like. Slightly less jammy then some other petites. Still really nice two plus hours in.

When you open the bottle the room fills with an incredible aroma of dark fruit. Velvety smooth. Round tannins.

Pay $27 for a petite sirah and you will not be disappointed. I wasn’t.

Black fruits on the nose (blueberry, coffee, black cherry and lilac per the bottle... don't get all that!!), big body, good acid and tannins, lingering pepper. Yum!
