Petite Sirah is one of our favorite unheralded red varietals, and Girard consistently makes one of the best in Napa Valley. On the nose we see blackberry compote, figs and toasted spices reminiscent of the holidays. The palate is starting to express its dark fruit character accented with notes of plum, cranberry and toasty oak notes and hints of hazelnuts. The wine will benefit with some cellar time allowing the bright acidity to integrate with the fruit & oak character. Drink 2014-20120.

Girard is the only wine club I belong to, and the only winery where I consistently just love everything.

Agresssive fruit, soft but full tannins, a little hot out of the bottle. Did not pair well with chicken burritos.

Delicious. Blackberries, maybe cassis, deep layers of flavor from the oled vines used. some cedar notes and a Bite of black pepper then beautiful tannins.

Lovely! Fruity start, nice solid structure, although it did take at least 30min to open up in the glass.

Dark berry aromas mixed with a phenolic smell that blows off with a few minutes in the glass. The palate seems over-extracted with a coarse finish. The wine softens up with time in the glass.
