Girard Winery Artistry Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2013
The 2013 Artistry blend showcases aromatics of vanilla and tobacco intertwined with black and red fruit notes. The palate coats with bright cherry on the front, vanilla and mocha followed by blackberry compote and finishing with leather and textured tannins. The structure of the acidity, tannin and fruit present a well-balanced wine that, with a little time to decant, becomes even more expressive 90 Points Robert Parker: "The 2013 Proprietary Red Artistry is a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc and the rest Malbec and Petit Verdot. It shows good balance, richness and purity, blue and black fruits, is medium to full-bodied with soft tannins."

Nice ripe blackberry/dark cherry fruit with a woodsy maple syrup note. Rich, soft, but not overblown at all. Lowish acid and a bit of puckery tannin in the finish. Very nice for short term enjoyment.

Girard's Artistry is always a crowd pleaser. Such a smooth red blend. Dark purple color, long legs. Smells like blackberry pie and cocoa powder. Tannins were very well integrated for this being so young. Fruit forward finish.

This is Girard 2013 Artistry. The color is opaque. The bouquet is lavender and grape jelly. The initial bouquet is sharp and slightly sour but that quickly dissipates to a very dry finish. There is a quick blast of sour black berries and pepper in the middle of the palate. There is oak on the very dry finish. I think it needs to breathe for at least an hour.
