Frank Family Vineyards Carneros Pinot Noir 2019

$44

Frank Family has just released their first-ever Pinot Noir - get this small-production beauty while its still available. Frank Family Vineyards' 2019 Napa Valley Carneros, Pinot Noir has aromas that are vibrant and abundant, opening with red raspberry and May Duke cherries followed by smoked bacon, leather and forest floor with a hint of sweet violet throughout. The palate is supple, polished and layered with fresh strawberries, cranberries, cherry cola, rhubarb pie, hibiscus tea, cinnamon, honey and smoked meat. While the wines' impression is youthful and lively, the tannins are silky and polished, giving exceptional structure and a soft lingering finish

A bit flat for me. This misses the acidity that I might like from Carneros. It is not a very sweet/ripe style but neither incisive with acid.

Nice dry finish. Flavors of cocoa, tobacco, dates and other dry fruits. The wine held up well with the prime, New York steaks, truffled, macaroni and cheese, lemon risotto, and other great appetizers we had for my birthday dinner at Hannah’s restaurant in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. This one is definitely going on the revised list.

First timer here. Pretty little wine for the price.

Pale ruby color. Aromas of cherry, cranberry and mossy/earthy tones. Really good red fruit, good structure. Black cherry, oak and black tea on the finish.

Another more or less 14.5% fruit bomb from Cali. This one is mostly jammy, strawberry compote.

Unremarkable nose. Medium body, dry. Red fruit with a bit of smokiness.
