94 Points - inaugural vintage! The new Flowers 2017 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir now available. Inaugural vintage! 94 Points James Suckling: "Venturing into new territory with its first Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, this exclusive release is for your eyes only. This is a deep, rich cherry and raspberry scented Pinot that jumps out of the glass with intensity not seen prior. A fuller and more voluptuous version of Flowers “hands-off” approach to winemaking, it starts a new chapter in a distinguished history for this Burgundian-inspired institution. We are excited to offer this gem to you first and thank Flowers for allowing us to share their newest pride and joy!"

We had the 2017 Vintage on 10/23-25/24. A real good PN that had classic Sonoma Coast flavors of cherry, strawberry, cola, sassafras and minerals. Well balanced, medium bodied with a velvety mouthfeel.

Definitely a crowd pleaser. The level of acidity is just on the border of flabby but not in a bad way! Very quaffable.

We were looking for a simple bottle tonight, but were at the end of our everyday wines and opened this instead. It it not a simple wine. Much more earthiness and terroir than I expect from a Pinot. Cherries and tea(?) on the nose. Notes of Vanilla (feels like fairly prominent oak) and a bit hot (13.5%), hiding some of the more subtle flavors.
