Flora Springs Trilogy Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2016

$74.99

Trilogy is the flagship bordeaux blend from Flora Springs. Sourced from the winery's estate vineyards in Napa Valley this Cabernet-based beauty is a tour de force in winemaking and sure to please the most discerning Cab lover. previous vintage 94 Points Robert Parker:  "A barrel sample of the Trilogy is composed of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 6% Malbec and 4% Petit Verdot. Slightly darker, riper fruits appear in the nose of this opaque ruby/purple-colored wine. Rich, textured, full and more opulent and layered than the 2010, the 2012 appears to be one of the finest Trilogies ever made. This seductive beauty should drink well for 10-12 years."   92 Points Wine Enthusiast

Blackberry, cherry cola, vanilla, raspberry, cassis, licorice, eucalyptus and oak. Great structure and quite tannic.

Day 3 in Napa in the books! Running a day behind on notes...Napa time runs slow AND fast! Main reason we go out this time of year each year...the Flora Springs Trilogy Release Party! This was our 5th year in a row to attend. For comparison sake, this is less acidic than ‘15, but more structured than ‘14. Close to ‘13 in style. Trilogy style with fig, nutmeg, espresso, mainly black fruit, & a small dollop of floral/violet notes.

If there’s one red blend I’ve grown increasingly fond of over the years, it’s Trilogy. Earlier today while at my desk at work I found myself salivating as I read @Shay A ‘s latest notes from the recent release party. Denying my taste buds the pleasure of consuming this seductive juice would be tantamount to treason of the senses: I had to acquire some. And acquire some I did. Already looking forward to trying the 2017 eventually. This 2016 has a beautiful nose: creme de cassis, Luxardo cherries, mocha, dark chocolate, licorice, plums, blackberries, and baking spices. Lovely mouthfeel that coats the palate with plush tannins.

7/19. As good as the 2015 vintage. Bold and full of flavor.
