New Cab from Quintessa The Faust vineyard is in the new Coombsville AVA, Napa Valley's newest appellation in the eastern hills. Agustin Huneeus, who created Quintessa, sources grapes from his Rutherford estate as well for this lush Cab. 95 Points Brix26: "Sophisticated and supple. Yes, the second label from Quintessa has done it yet again. The Faust Cabernet is pure and straightforward. Black currant, cassis and blackberry fruit on the nose, with just a wisp of toast. Fresh minerals and finely integrated tannins make this Napa classic very drinkable now or easily cellarable for the next 5+ years or so. One of the best 2014 cabs we've found at this price." 93 Points James Suckling: "A wine with currant and blackberry aromas and flavors. Full body, fine tannins and a long and beautiful finish. Lovely tension and finesse." Behind every great wine stands a passionate vintner. Faust Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is the creation of Agustin Huneeus and it continues to satisfy his long held desire to produce a wine that embodies the most seductive characteristics of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

Deep ruby red. Dark and tight on the nose. Dark cocoa, dark red berries, and solid structure on the palate. Moderate tannins (6/10) and medium bodied. This just seems like a baby that needs some time to open up. Drink from 2019 till 2025.

A classic Bordeaux style blend, (older vintages omitted Petit Verdot). Aged for 19 months in French Oak. Deep purple, aromas of fresh berry fruits with cedar and spice. On the palate cherry, blackberry, plum and blueberry fruit, sweet and savory oak notes. Drinking well for a 2014, needs decanting or about 10 years in cellar. Tannins were smooth and firm, with leather & cacao on the long finish. Faust wines do not disappoint, even when young. Nice! A Fav!

Very nice cab. Tobacco and leather and Black Forest fruits. You can tell it was aged in French oak. Not American. I usually avoid “brand” Napa wines but this was really nice. Great addition to steak Brussels sprouts and gnocchi in beurre noisette.

Great recommendation by our server. Full bodied cab, beautiful aroma, pairs really well with steak. It also doesn’t need time to air out, can be enjoyed immediately.
