The Faust vineyard is in the new Coombsville AVA, Napa Valley's newest appellation in the eastern hills. Agustin Huneeus, who created Quintessa, sources grapes from his Rutherford estate as well for this lush Cab.93 Points James Suckling: "A wine with currant and blackberry aromas and flavors. Full body, fine tannins and a long and beautiful finish. Lovely tension and finesse." 90 points Robert Parker: "The Faust 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon comes largely from vineyards in southern Napa Valley’s Coombsville and Atlas Peak, but also includes some cross-AVA material from areas such as Yountville, Mt. Veeder, St. Helena and Rutherford. It is a well-made, ripe, concentrated, deep ruby/purple-colored Cabernet Sauvignon with sweet tannin, an attractive, cedary, licorice-infused aromatic and flavor profile, medium to full body and supple tannins. It seems to be the most drinkable and up-front of the Faust wines." Behind every great wine stands a passionate vintner. Faust Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is the creation of Agustin Huneeus and it continues to satisfy his long held desire to produce a wine that embodies the most seductive characteristics of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

What?! 8.9??? Has everyone lost their mind?! It's like someone scrubbed a suckling and roasted it all day in the sexy earth and then put tapenade on it.

Blackberry jam, black tea, & violets. Smooth, with very light tannins. Starts off well enough, just falls off & loses direction on the mid palate & finish. It required lots of air to get it to this point. Unfortunately it's $50, because Napa. If jammy & light is your thing, you'll love it. Just don't expect more then that.

Tried this about a year ago and wanted to see how it developed. A classic Bordeaux style blend, (older vintages omitted Petit Verdot). Deep purple with Ruby edges, aromas of red and dark fruit with cedar and spice. On the palate ripe blackberries, blueberries and red fruit, with sweet and savory oak notes. Drinking well for a 2013, still needs decanting. Tannins were smooth and firm, with minerality on the long finish. Faust wines do not disappoint, even when young.

a classic Bordeaux style blend, previous older vintages they omitted Petit Verdot. Pouring a glass I noticed a deep purple wine with ruby edges and aromas of red and dark fruit with cedar spice notes. The palate showed ripe blackberries, blueberries and sweet red berry fruit, with sweet and savory oak notes. Very approachable for a 2013, but it needs 30 minutes to open up. On the finish tannins were smooth and firm, showing some minerality on the long finish. Faust wines do not disappoint, even when young.
