Post & Beam is an outstanding value in Napa Valley Cabernet from the folks at Far Niente. Highly recommended. Named for the simple yet elegant barns that dot the American landscape as an enduring reminder of our history, Post & Beam represents craftsmanship, tradition, legacy, and purity. There’s nothing unnecessary or overly complicated about a post and beam barn. It just works beautifully. The same can be said for our wines. They are simple, elegant, pure expressions of each grape in its finest form. Tasting Notes: "The Post & Beam 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon provides pure, fresh plum, violet and sage aromas lead to a round palate layered with ripe plum, dark berry and black currant flavors. Leather, cedar and dried herb accents, along with whispers of vanilla and oak provide depth, while lithe acidity keeps the wine lifted, balanced and bright. Supple tannins feel like suede-velvet and carry the elegant fruit and spice flavors into a finish that goes on and on. This debut vintage is pure finesse.

From the Far Niente winery. Deep Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruits with floral spice and oaky notes. On the palate flavors of raspberry, blackberry and red plum with licorice, vanilla, leather and espresso. Tannins are fine, a bit tight, long finish ending with fruit, toasty cedar and earthy spice. Enjoyable now but a few years will reward. Pair this with a fillet mignon with a Cabernet sauce.

Wow, this is interesting coming from the illustrious Far Niente. Nice round, chewy, cab. Approachble, 40 bucks. Quite the sweet spot. I will rebuy and put it through my full process. Alc comes across a bit hot. But otherwise, very good. 92 points

12/2023. Good medium bodied Cab. Expected more but no problem. Nice color and nice on the palate. Good finish with a touch of spice at the end. Needs to breathe. Paired well with the Cioppino served at Di Vino Rosso.
