Justin Smith of SAXUM is consulting winemaker - not to be missed while still available. 95 Points Robert Parker: "Another sensational red is the 2013 Veracity Proprietary Red, which is mostly Grenache blended with 34% Mourvedre and 17% Syrah. Aged in 32% new barrels, its ruby color is followed by classic notes of black raspberries, toasted spice, dried flowers and hints of pepper. Full-bodied, supple and polished, with no hard edges and a seamless texture, it will stand up to a great Chateauneuf du Pape and drink well through 2025... ...Winemaker Jordan Fiorentini is making the most of her new winery on York Mountain, and her 2013s and 2014s are up with the creme de la creme of the vintage. In addition to the new releases, I was also able to do a small retrospective of her Tempranillo." 94 Points Wine Enthusiast: "Jordan Fiorentini continues to knock socks off with powerful wines, even when led by Grenache, which comprises 55% of this blend along with 27% Mourvèdre and 18% Syrah. Snagged this on an impromptu visit to Epoch several months ago. I remember it being a favorite with its healthy dollop of Mourvedre yet considerably tight, this is much more open. Tannins still run a little coarse and oak heavy, but that beautiful black and blue fruit is hitting its stride. There’s a lot of exotic and sweet spice notes balanced by earthier notes of sage brush, pine forest, volcanic rocks. It carries weight yet some nice lift too given how much ballast is here. Not a style I reach for often but enjoying this 49 GR 34 MV 17 SY
