Epoch Winery is a phenomenal new label from Paso Robles. Justin Smith of SAXUM is the winemaker - not to be missed while still available. 92 Points Robert Parker: "The entry-level release is the 2013 Estate Blend and it's 32% Syrah, 25% Grenache, 25% Mourvedre, 10% Tempranillo and 8% Zinfandel. Seeing lots of co-fermentation and aging in 33% new French oak puncheons, it's juicy and forward, with plump and forward notes of plums, blackberries, pepper, underbrush and hints of violets. Full-bodied, sexy and textured, yet always classy and easy drinking, it should evolve nicely for 4-5 years. Incorporating all of the varieties of the estate, it's a great intro into the style of Epoch." A dazzling blend of Syrah, Grenache, Tempranillo and Mourvedre . Located on the west side of Paso Robles, the Paderewski Vineyard is a patchwork of different vineyard blocks matched to their specific soil and climate types. The Epoch 2010 Estate Blend captures that patchwork in a bottle. Predominantly Syrah, but combined with almost every other red variety from the estate, this wine gives a sweeping glimpse of the vineyard and our winemaking practices. As a true field blend, the Estate Blend combines 15 different harvest picks. 56% Syrah, 26% Grenache, 11% Mourvedre, 7% Tempranillo. This baby brother to Epoch's Authenticity, Veracity & Ingenuity is a delightful wine that doesn't break the bank. Five of its siblings all scored between 92 and 96 Points!

Earthy blackberry nose. Savory cherry and currant taste with decent acidity. Long fruit finish. Ready to drink. Doesn’t get better with extended breathing times now.

GSM with Tempranillo and Zinfandel from Paso. Immensely ripe and jammy. In fact, cork came out with a layer of glistening grape jam smothered on it. Blueberries, pepper. Minimal tannins. Medium finish.

A blend that evolves throughout the years. The 2013 is mineral, light in tannins, fruit forward at first, fairly high in alcohol
