A fabulous new Zin from the legendary (but tiny) Black-Sears Vineyard! This Zinfandel is a very complex wine, with round tannins and beautiful balance. It is a muscular Zin that finishes soft, silky, and sooth. Pair with lamb, cassoulet or peppered steak. The wine will age nicely for the next 6 – 8 years. 93 Points Wine Enthusiast: "The grapes for this Zin come from high up on Howell Mountain, which accounts for their concentration. Massive in blackberries, mushu plum, mocha and spices, its initial taste is as sweet as jam. But it turns dry and minerally on the finish. A delicious, softly tannic wine to drink now and for the next six years."

Pours a light purple almost violet in color. Pepper smacks you in the face upon smelling along with fresh blueberries. Initially in your tongue is pepper but after it leaves blueberry and a savoriness follow. It is a full bodied #Zinfandel with classic Black Sears characteristics. An extremely long finish.

First taste, great fruit, vegetale(sp?). Mild acid/tannin, can't wait to get to the bottom

Peppery, deep and rich Zin. Distinctive and great like all Elyse wines!

Heaps of pepper and spice. Vineyard is located at 2000 ft on Howell Mt and the aromatics, much like the site, are quite lifted. At 14.5 % I was expecting much more of a bruiser. On the contrary, the wine has a lean quality that I prefer and seldom find in Napa Zins. Still, there is plenty of ripe, juicy, sweet fruit and soft tannin to give it the Napa stamp. Not bad at all.
