Perfect 100 Points - limited Napa's legendary Eisele Vineyard needs no introduction as it is one of the greatest estates in Napa and among the finest in the world. Last year the owners of Chateau Latour in Bordeaux purchased the winery and vineyard from founders Bart & Daphne Araujo and the 2013 is their inaugural vintage under the renamed winery as Eisele Vineyard. 100 Points Robert Parker: "Both 2013's are clearly the finest Eisele wines made under the administration of François Pinault and his top lieutenant, Frédéric Engerer, who also runs the show at Château Latour. The utterly compelling 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon in this vintage and 1,800 cases were made. The wine is off-the-charts great, with an opaque bluish/purple color to the rim, an aroma of pen ink, graphite, blackberry and blueberry fruit, a hint of licorice, camphor and incense. The wine is full-bodied, with extraordinary concentration, remarkable equilibrium and noticeable, but sweet, well-integrated tannin. This is a large-scaled Eisele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, but flawless and with no edges. It is an amazing effort and a great achievement from this incredible terroir. Drink it over the next 30-40 years." 2013 is the forty-third vintage bottled under the Eisele Vineyard designation, and is poised to be one of the finest in the history of this property. It is the first “grand vin” made from berry-to-bottle by our team, and coincidentally the first Eisele wine to be released under the vineyard’s name alone. It will take its place among extraordinary vintages like 1971, 1975, 1978, 1995 and 2001 and reflects the purity of a place that has been farmed under biodynamic principles for the past 16 years.
