Eisele Vineyard Altagracia Calistoga Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

$139.99

Limited new red from cult producer Eisele Vineyard  One of Napa Valley's cult producers this is always a limited release. 95 points James Suckling: "Glorious aromas, like walking into a flower shop, from roses to lilacs. Lots of dark fruit too. Then goes to slate and dark mushroom. Full body, super refined tannins and refresh and ultra-clean finish. A thoroughly balanced and refined wine" 94 points Robert Parker:  "The second wine is still called Altagracia and represents a Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine with a touch of Cabernet Franc that is culled out as insufficient for what is included in their flagship Eisele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Altagracia, as one might expect, is seamless, with gobs of fruit, loads of blackcurrant and blackberry notes, a touch of floral notes, medium to full body and easygoing silky tannin. It is a luscious, seductive style of wine to drink in its first 12-15 years of life... ...This famous estate tucked away in northeastern Napa Valley in the foothills of the Vaca Mountains is now fully controlled, in both a viticultural and winemaking standpoint, by Château Latour’s François Pinault and his general manager Frédéric Engerer. The new releases include their second wine, the Altagracia."

Well made “second” wine, this a crowd pleaser with statue. Smooth velvet entry with soft “powder style” tannins, nice integrated wood and of course the light tobacco i the mouth. Somewhere it brings me to the style of Pontet Canet, and this is at the age of six a wine to watch. Big

Very balanced wine . 2+ hours decanting helped open up the wine big time. Nice finish. Not too big.

Truly spectacular. Obviously, it is on the high end side, but I enjoyed every drop.

Holy cow! Stanky. Black licorice tar and black fruit. Complex and grippy. Blown away.
