Eisele Vineyard Altagracia Calistoga Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

$159.99

97 points                                                         Limited new Altagracia Red from cult producer Eisele Vineyard  One of Napa Valley's cult producers this is always a limited release. 96 Points James Suckling: "A solid Altagracia with currants, blueberries and pine and bark aromas and some sweet tobacco. Aromas that follow through on the palate to a full body with a well-framed tannin profile. Crunchy at the end. Juicy too. Needs as couple of years to come together. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Best after 2027." Altagracia, named after Bart Araujo’s grandmother, is a Bordeaux-style blend vinified in the same manner as the Eisele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. It is essentially the expression of the Eastern parcels of the Eisele Vineyard, completed with fruit sourced from other Napa Valley vineyards where we hold long-term grape contracts and which are farmed to our specifications. This Napa Valley Proprietary Red, while very ageable, is readily enjoyable in its youth.

Very well made SB, as I expected. Beautiful notes of high-pitched citrus fruits combined with white melons on the nose. Sexy presentation on the palate. Laser-focused acidity provides the energy, along with white-fleshed exotic fruits (lychees). Outstanding, and relative to price, this is a major buy.
