Fantastic new Cabernet releases from Dunn, one of Napa Valley's pioneer wineries. Limited. previous vintage 96 Points Robert Parker: "In keeping with the vintage’s character. It is full-bodied and displaying flashy, flamboyant blueberry and blackberry fruit, licorice and background earth and oak, it is voluptuous and ideal for drinking over the next 15 or more years.."

Such a baby. Huge wall of tannins. Loads of dark fruit and leather. Big potential here.

Dunn is fantastic. I prefer the Howell Mtn, but the Napa Valley is still great and much more drinkable in its relative youth. Black and red cherry, tannic but after an hour decant and soft yet providing a solid backbone. Just a great wine.

The longer you can decant the better. Really opens up after couple hours. Dark black cherry, blueberry, great balance with earthiness. Powerful tannins mellow up over time. Hints of green pepper. Drank wonderfully tonight with friends at Rendezvous.

Right place at the right time and I was able to try this beauty. Classic Napa Cab.

Really came into its own after about 2.5 hours opened up. Great wine. Really earthy and tannic at the open but let it sit a couple hours and you’ll be rewarded with great structure of fruit, earthiness, and smooth tannins.

Nose: black fruit, cassis, spice, vanilla spice, currant, more old world styled. Intensity is huge but needs lots of time to open. Second day it hits you with concentrated blackberry jam, black cherry cobbler, mocha. Tannins are nice now full body, sweet spice, concentrated black fruit with clove and all spice integration. Fine but intense tannins. Long finish. Made for the medium to long haul. Give it another 3-5 years and see it open up a lot more.
