96 Points                                                           DuMol make some of the best and most sought-after Chardonnays from the Russian River Valley and California. Limited single vineyard Chardonnay from the legendary Heintz Vineyard. 96 Points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2017 Chardonnay Isobel Charles Heintz Vineyard offers a captivating mix of the lush, tropical notes that are typical of this site with strikin5 beams of mineral tension that add support. Rich, exotic and alluring, the 2017 is off the charts gorgeous. I usually don’t like to compare American wines to French wines, as that implies a subservient relationship that does not exist, but the best way I can explain the 2017 is that it reminds me of a great Chablis Valmur." 94 Points Robert Parker: "The 2017 Chardonnay Isobel Charles Heintz Vineyard comes from vines planted in 1982. It was barrel fermented and aged 12 months on the lees in 300-liter Atelier hogsheads, 33% new. It features scents of ripe white peach, red apple skin, crushed stone, toast and spiced yellow apples. It's light to medium-bodied, precise and minerally in the mouth with citrus peel touches, laser acidity and a long, textured finish. 500 cases produced." Winery Notes: "Given its cool, foggy coastal exposition, Heintz is our final Chardonnay vineyard to harvest each year. The grapes hang on the vine for an extended period, steadily building character and richness while never losing acidity; that’s what makes the vineyard so special. The wait can be nail-biting at times, especially if an early Fall storm is approaching, but under the steady hand of Charlie Heintz, a wily old veteran grape farmer, fruit and wine quality are never less than spectacular."
