$94.99

94 points                             New release of Duckhorn's 2015 Three Palms Vineyard Merlot, one of the finest reds in California. Limited. Wine Spectator #1 Wine in the World 2017 (2014 vintage) previous vintage 95 Points Wine Spectator:  "A powerful red, with concentrated flavors of red plum, cherry and boysenberry, layered with plenty of rich spice and mineral accents. Touches of slate and cardamom make for a complex finish. Drink now through 2023." A sumptuous incarnation of Three Palms Vineyard Merlot, this mouth-filling and age-worthy wine displays suppleness, balance and structure, with seamless integration between lush fruit and new French oak. The aroma offers layered elements of fresh baked cherry pie, red licorice, and vanilla bean. On the palate, juicy boysenberry and blackberry layers intermingle with notes of strawberry, cherry, orange rind, and cinnamon spice, accented by earth tones and subtle oak.

The legendary Three Palms Vineyard tasted in Pass-A-Grille on a leisurely Saturday on the gulf - priceless.

1 hour decant(little cloudy sediment). A wondrous dark ruby red color. On the nose: jumping from the glass are dark berries, loamy earth, oak, pencil shavings, and smoke. Taste: soft, lush, integrated wine with dark plum, currants, lots of milk chocolate, and a spiced cherry/tar medium finish. YUM!

Not jammy not overly plush but an A+ Napa mostly Merlot that will be even better in about 2 years and should hold up for decades after.

Our 4th Duckhorn wine of the evening and one of their best. From the Anderson Valley this wine has what I consider a lot of heart and soul. It’s light and lively yet complex and very interesting on the palate. Produced from grapes of three separate vineyards with balanced fruit and acid, then barreled in 60% new French oak. This one will be a frequent occupant in our cellar. Cheers
