New release - One of our favorite reds from Provence, the Domaine de Terrebrune Bandol Rouge is the textbook example of the appellation. Highly recommended. "Domaine de Terrebrune Proprietor Reynald Delille always appears in disbelief when tasting his own wines, as if he cannot fathom his land revealing new secrets with each vintage. When we first tasted this 2020 rouge, he stood speechless in the shadow of a tall cask, grinning and shaking his head repeatedly. “C’est pas possible!” he finally uttered, eyes wide and palate stained. He deems it the greatest rouge the domaine has bottled to date, citing the pristine vintage conditions plus a je ne sais quoi that always allows Terrebrune to transcend expectations. Generous, savory, and brimming with rich wild fruit, this beautiful young beast is certain to elicit incredulous reactions for many more years to come." Kermit Lynch Domaine de Terrebrune is an estate in Ollioules, Provence, France founded in 1963 by Georges Delille, known for its high-quality, mineral-driven wines, especially aged Bandol rosé, red, and white wines made with Mourvèdre, and other local grape varietals. The domaine employs organic and traditional farming methods, including manual plowing and avoiding chemical products, and emphasizes the unique terroir shaped by its proximity to the Mediterranean and the Gros-Cerveau mountain. Run by Reynald Delille, son of Georges, the estate focuses on wines with depth, complexity, and aging potential Provence’s leader in concentrated and age-worthy red wines, Bandol is home to the dense, deep and earthy Mourvèdre grape. Like Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Bandol produces characterful reds that, while approachable in their youth, are typically designed for the cellar. Given its coastal, Provencal situation, Bandol also naturally produces an assortment of charming, aromatic rosés made of Mourvèdre, Grenache and Cinsault.
