Dom Perignon is of the highest-rated and best Champagnes anywhere. Forget Cristal and the others, this is the one to buy while it's still available! Very Limited 96+ Points Robert Parker: "The 2008 Dom Pérignon comes from a very rich vintage with an early ripeness that brought a lot of aromatic maturity. The white-golden prestige cuvée contains a bit more Chardonnay than Pinot Noir and opens with a deep and seductive, pretty accessible nose with intense yet fresh fruit aromas of pineapples, with peaches and tangerines. Lively and elegant on the palate, this is a full-bodied, unusually aromatic and fruity DP with a long and tension-filled expression." The Dom Perignon 2008 Brut Champagne is the latest release from this venerable Champagne house and can easily be aged 20+ years, if you can wait that long. Is this a gift? You can choose a gift card message of your choice during checkout and the wine will be wrapped in tissue paper and accompanied by tasting notes.

#AgedWineTuesday Light gold in color. Nice crisp nose with limes and brioche. Light to medium in body with medium plus acidity and small bubbles. Dry on the palate with nice complexity. Showing citrus, yeast, minerals, bread, green apples, herbs, earth, lemon juice and white pepper. Long finish, tasty and elegant. This 16 year old still feels very young, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Rich and well balanced. I love this vintage of Dom Perignon. Complex and interesting. I've had this vintage it a few times before, and it is very consistent. Good by itself as a sipping wine, or with food. Good stuff. 12.5% alcohol by volume. 92 points. $350.

This was opened and we enjoyed a few glasses before recorking and reapproaching 24 hours later, at which point it was really singing. Yellow peach, pear and medley of orchard fruit, layered with pressed yellow flowers, dried persimmon, and notes of vanilla and bourbon. So delicate. Such fine bubbles. Saltwater taffy and some caramel and rock salt on the palate. Subtle tannic echo. Mesmerizing.

More open than any I’ve tried so far. Loads of midpalate with a sweetness and great structure.,

The 2008 Dom Pérignon is a huge, powerful Champagne and also clearly one of the wines of the vintage. This is one of the most reticent bottles I have tasted. So much so that I am thinking about holding off opening any more bottles! The 2008 has always offered a striking interplay of fruit and structure. Today, the richness of the fruit is especially evident. Readers who own the 2008 should be thrilled, but patience is a must. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, August 2021)

A wine of tremendous energy. Much like other Champagnes of this vintage, the acid plays a starring role which, to some palates, may be a bit much at this early stage in its evolution. However, with some air, it relaxes a bit and begins to show off its character…and this is a wine of tremendous character. Lemons, minerals and smoke dominate now but it’s the sheer depth that pulls you in and won’t let you go. My first experience with the 2008 and I have to say that it met my lofty expectations. This is a legend in the making.

Citrus; finger lime, smoky minerals. Bright, a little bitter and with an interesting saline quality. On the palate this is weightless, flush with beautiful acid, and a texture that is subtle. Hint of marzipan. Not quite the aromatic complexity I was expecting, but maybe that will come with age.
