Delas Frères Saint-Esprit Côtes du Rhône Red Rhone Blend 2016

$14.99

An amazing value from the South of France - hurry! 95 Points Decanter: "60% Syrah, 40% Grenache. Lovely rich opulent and floral, black berry and plum nose, the palate is big with well layered fruit, attractively firm but soft tannin and hints of oak, a big wine with a lovely finish. *Gold Medal Winner Decanter Asia Wine Awards.* Robert Parker: "A blend of 60% Syrah and 40% Grenache, the 2016 Cotes du Rhone Saint-Esprit is a screaming value. If offers bold black cherry and blueberry fruit aromas, lively fruit flavors, silky tannins and a crisp, lengthy mocha-tinged finish. Drink this fun, bouncy little wine over the next couple of years."

A blend of 60% Syrah & 40% Grenache with rich berry fruit and floral bouquet. On the palate sweet plum and red berry fruit flavors with some oak and licorice notes. Soft tannins, medium length ending with fruit in the finish. Nice value!

Dark color. Like blackberries or black cherries. Smells like matches and berries flavor fruit leather. Made some earthy, inky aroma as well. Taste is nice. Tart, dry, full bodied and juicy. Cherries are part of the mix. Also has a savory hit. It’s simple. Plenty of Grenache profile. It’s a nice little Côte-Du-Rhône.

Nice BBQ wine. Bright red fruits with a little acidity. A little bit of dust. Starts off with some of that southern Rhone funk you get from some wines, it goes away with a little airing out to reveal more white pepper in the back.

Sharp tannins at first until the wine opened up. The blend generated smooth hints of plum and bramble berries.

Sweeter wine, high alcohol content. Pairs nicely with cheese platter.
