One of California's greatest white wines is the Darioush Viognier - try it while this small-production gem is still available! The Darioush estate grown Viognier derives its unique style from a four-acre vineyard site in the Oak Knoll appellation. The cool micro-climate of the vineyard allows this temperamental varietal to slowly develop robust and concentrated floral and fruit characteristics. The fruit, and resulting wine, is minimally handled to express its pure and fragrant nature. Honeysuckle, jasmine and citrus fruit aromas leap from the glass, introducing a vibrant and succulent mouthfeel of juicy peach and cantaloupe balanced by the bright acidity of Fuji apple and lemon zest. The 2014 Viognier finishes with lingering notes of dried apricot, nutmeg and vanilla bean.

Beautiful, bright acidity. Pear and apple on the nose and palate. Impressively flavorful for a #viognier Yum!

This is not Condrieu but decisively has scents of it. In taste tho it brings all the marks of American Viognier with overpowering tastes of vanilla, creme brûlée and burned butter. This candy-esc profile is not what I wanted in $50+ Viognier. Not a bad wine but feels little disappointing

Previous vintages are better. Great on the nose but so oaky on the palette

A little too much alcohol for me at 14.8% but I enjoyed the blend of tropical fruit and floral notes with some nice spice.
