Continuum Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2015

$250

99 Points - limited                                           Continuum is the new tiny production Cabernet from the Mondavi Family. Extremely limited. 98+ Points Antonio Galloni (Vinous):  "Bottled just a few months ago, the 2015 Continuum is shaping up to be a real gem. The flavors are dark, bold and incisive. In 2015, poor weather during flowering took with it 50% of the production in Continuum's prime Cabernet Sauvignon blocks. As a result, the 2015 has a high percentage (31%) of Cabernet Franc. Today, the Franc is keeping the wine a bit clenched, but that should be less of an issue as time passes." 98 Points James Suckling:  "Fabulous aromas of blueberries, blackcurrants, sage and mint. Lead pencil and graphite, too. Full body and ultra-fine tannins that are slowly transformed to ripe and beautiful fruit. Super polished and textured. Great finish. Drink in 2022, but it's hard not to drink now. This harkens back to the great Mondavi reserves of the 1970s in texture and construction." Brix26 Inside Scoop:  After the sale of the Robert Mondavi winery, winemaker Tim Mondavi chose to focus on one wine and one varietal: Continuum is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.  Sourced from Continuum's Estate vineyard on Napa Valley's Pritchard Hill, one of the priciest Cabernet regions in all of California with neighbors like Colgin, Bryant Family and Chappellet.  It's a beautiful site and judging from the Continuum 2013 Cabernet will be among Napa's most coveted collector wines.

Top juice, this will develop for many years but is extremely good now with a 2 hour decant, puts a smile on your face. Big wine, big flavours on the nose and the palate, built for the long haul, buy at least two so you can try one now and confine the other to solitary for a long stretch.

15 was by far the best vintage I’ve enjoyed from them. @Shay A also loved the 16. I’ll need to try.
