A great small-production Cabernet discovery from Napa Valley's Diamond Mountain. Hurry - only a few hundred cases produced. "In 2004 we met Michael and Susan Klopka who had lovingly planted a small Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard near the top of Diamond Mountain in the northern end of Napa Valley. One look at the porous, red volcanic soils, and the exposure to the cool afternoon breezes coming all the way from Lake Sonoma, we were convinced that this had the makings of an outstanding Cabernet vineyard. The northwest hillside exposure provides plenty of hang-time, and the long, sunny days slowly ripen the grapes to perfection."

Definitely rough. Earthy with berries on the nose. Harsh tannins with berries on the palate. Better with some time in the decanter. Just okay. Definitely better wines for the price.
