One of the highest-rated Châteaneufs from the stellar 2015 vintage! Limited. 98 Points Wine Spectator: "This offers a drop-dead gorgeous core of cassis and raspberry pâte de fruit flavors that hold center stage but still allow notes of Lapsang souchong tea, anise, incense and shiso leaf to chime in. Very long, with a sublime feel through the mineral-tinged finish. So seductive already, but this should cruise in the cellar. Drink now through 2040." 96 Points Robert Parker: "The 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape is reminiscent of a slightly improved 2005 and has a fresh, classic style with beautiful concentration, notable freshness, first-rate tannin quality, and the classic spice and sweet red and black fruits this cuvee is known for. I suspect this beauty will close down relatively quickly after bottling and take 5-6 years to show at its best, but it will drink well for 15+ years."

Gorgeous cigar, cedar notes. Still young of course but surprisingly drinkable now

15’ Clos des Papes - Châteauneuf-du-Pape. WNH virtual tasting. We through this into a decanter just short of 4 hours. Strawberry jam, violets & potpourri stand out on the nose. Black cherry, rosemary, Asian spice. Medium-bodied with fine grained tannins(no bitterness) that will continue to develop over the next decade. Edit- As the wine continues to open up, truly balances out that much more. Silky smooth textures & lingering for well over a minute. Just a gorgeous wine. Can’t wait to try this again in 5-10-15 years.

Over three years since I opened up the first bottle. Still young-ish but much easier to drink after a quick decant of half an hour. All the typical scents and taste of C9DP. Very balanced. Clearly from a warm climate but retaining ample freshness. Like it a lot. Hope I can keep my hands off it in the coming years to check in on the remaining bottles every couple of years
