Cirq Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2021

$249.99

Cirq is the  new release from winemaker Michael Browne of Kosta Browne! Limited. CIRQ is a single vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir from Michael Browne. Browne is of course the winemaker and co owner of Kosta Browne. 95 Points Antonio Galloni: "The 2021 Pinot Noir Estate is an elegant, luxurious wine. Plump and juicy but not at all heavy, the 2021 is wonderfully classy from start to finish. Succulent dark red cherry, pomegranate, blood orange and a kiss of new French oak race across the palate. Silky tannins and bright acids frame the long, persistent finish nicely. There’s a bit more restraint in Michael Browne’s wines these days, and that’s not a bad thing at all. This mid-weight Pinot is terrific." Jeb Dunnuck: ".....From winemaker Michael Browne, also of CHEV and co-founder of Kosta Browne, CIRQ only produces a single Pinot Noir wine from their home in the Russian River Valley. " Aromatics: Piercing notes of deep cranberry, ripe raspberry, dark cherry and light notes of baking spice.  Flavors: Ripe pomegranate, rhubarb, raspberry and deep cranberry with hints of dark cherry and slight underbrush. Mouth feel: The wine immediately surrounds the tongue and deeply saturates the palate. It's as if a light velvet blanket was thrown onto a bed with thin, soft pillows slowly settling down into each crevasse providing the ultimate comfort. The wine then starts to expand to each side of the mouth slowly disappearing on the distant edges as if it were going to another place but not dying while all along continuing to hold on the mid palate.

Not mind blowing and seems way overpriced. Very jammy and fruit forward.
