Chappellet Signature Donn Chappellet Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

$64.99

96+ Points  Parker                       It's tough to make a case for a better Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon at this price point.  The Signature Cabernet Sauvignon has been Chappellet's flagship wine for more than four decades. It is a benchmark for the long-lived hillside wines of the Napa Valley. Location on Pritchard Hill is everything as the neighbors of this property include Colgin and Bryant Family. The wine has a phenomenally dense core of blueberry and cassis fruit accented by that dusty, roasted earth component, and the tannin and acidity to serve it well in the cellar. 93 Points Robert Parker: "The deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Signature delivers mocha, cassis and black soil notes with touches of black cherries, charcoal and fried herbs. Medium to full-bodied, it fills the palate with black berry and earthy flavors, textured by chewy tannins and finishing earthy/savory."

Decanted for 45 minutes. This is a very well balanced cab. Classic hillside Napa. Medium body with a long finish. Still a bit young, but nevertheless an outstanding wine & value.

This bottle isn’t as sharp and focused as the one we had a few months ago. It’s a little warmer than we normally serve, and that may be the cause of the friction here. Still very charming, tho...

Always a reliable restaurant pick. My first ‘15 from any of Chappellet’s wines, and I was astounded at how approachable this was at pop and pour! Wow. The aromatics were just sensational...blueberry and blackberry medley, baked pie, very small hint of smoked meat, and plum. Extremely lush on the palate from start to finish...black cherry cordial, mixed berry, and cocoa dusted dates. Phenomenal value!

You can’t go wrong with this producer. This is a stunning example in every way. A nice finish to the tasting.

This was pop and pour good. Paired well with the carpaccio. Super smooth.

Just stunning. Chappellet can do no wrong in our book. Tuck this away for a few years. We anticipate that this will “bulk up” over time. Suave tannins support subtle acid. On the palate, neutral oak treatment, with espresso notes and jet black fruits, front and center. Finishes plush and expansive.

Deep ruby, intense aromas of anise, black currant, oak and black cherry. Substantial tannins at this point but there is so much stuffing to this wine it is bound to be an opulent joy in a few years
