A fantastic small-production Red from Chalk Hill - limited. previous vintage 96 Points Robert Parker: "The 2013 Proprietary Red Estate is a blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Malbec, 12% Petit Verdot and the rest Carignane, Syrah and Merlot. This is another titanic effort from proprietor Foley. A spectacular dense-purple color and sweet toasty oak intermixed with licorice, blackberry, cassis and graphite are all present in this profound first-growth quality blend that should age effortlessly for 25-30 or more years. This is a stunner and a revelation."

Awesome red blend 2013 ! After trying this beautiful red I believe this is the Robert Parker 96+. Loaded with black fruits, soft tannins , lush ! The cab blends great with the Malbec and other 4 reds in this wine. Purchased at Wineworks on sale for 47.98, Reg Price was64.99.. I give this a Strong 98-100! It's that Great. CB

Staining red ink. Doesn't leap out of the glass, but what is apparent on the nose gives confidence for what's to come. Explosive on the palate, with blackberry, blackberry, blackberry, blackcurrant, licorice, cedar, pencil shavings, and mocha. Silky and polished, this glides on and on. This would easily be $100+ in Napa... Thank God for Sonoma.

Very busy Proprietary Sonoma Red Estate blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (45%), Malbec (30%), Petite Verdot (12%), Carmenere (5%), Syrah (4%) and Merlot (4%). Beautiful dense purple color. Lovely aromas of ripe dark berries, currants and plums, leather and coffee. The plush pallet features those same dark fruits with hints of black licorice and graphite. Sweet and toasty oak shows through on the long and silky finish. Bright acidity keeps the wine fresh tasting and well balanced. Outstanding! Revisited in June 2022. Most of the above applies. More pronounced blueberry and oak that the prior bottle.
