Caymus Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

$84.99

New release                               New release of Caymus' 2019 Cabernet now available! Caymus makes one of Napa Valley's most popular Cabernet Sauvignons and the 2019 is another stellar wine. previous vintage 94 Points Robert Parker:  "The Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley has a dense opaque purple color, a kiss of blackberry and cassis fruit, a full-bodied mouthfeel with ripe tannin and a long finish. It is very Caymus in its immediate accessibility, but has plenty of staying power and depth. This is lush, full, intense and pure. Drink it over the next 15 or so years." Caymus Vineyards produces two Cabernets Sauvignons – a “Napa Valley” and the venerable “Special Selection”. Both Cabernet bottlings have aromas and flavors which can only be achieved through “hang time” – a technique which chances the loss of crop if early winter sets in. Leaving the fruit to “hang” on the vine unusually long develops suppleness, increases color, and matures the tannins of the grapes. The wines are abundant in textural tannins yet soft as velvet. Crop thinning, allowing measured sunlight to reach the vine’s fruit zone, and waiting for increased ripeness are all part of our viticultural practices. Caymus Cabernets offer a wide array of aromas and flavors including cocoa, cassis and vanilla. The new Caymus 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley release is one of the best cabs in years!

A friend shared this with me today! I had it a few years ago at a dinner and loved it. So velvety smooth with notes of cinnamon. A nice treat!

Was opened on Thanksgiving so I am sure the structure of the wine has changed. Tannins were not biting and there was still some cinnamon, sweet cherry fruit. 1 Liter bottle.

NO pseudo academic vino-babble; just a great wine and among the most enjoyable domestic wine in a very long time shared with spouse and friends on the balcony of Alfond Inn in Winter Park, FL.

Gift from a customer/friend at work. Really appreciate the subtlety of this wine, not overdone. Cassis, cedar, cigar box, juniper berry, herbs, medium tannins, nice acid. Could’ve waited, but had a steak :)

Beautiful dark burgundy color with aromas of earthy forest fruits, licorice, and leather. After it opens, it has beautiful vanilla flavors. Rich, full bodied, and chewy. Would be a wine to enjoy with a nicely marbled steak!

My first Caymus experience: smooth, silky and so well refined I understand the price tag. Oh so perfect on the nose and Initial entry on the palette, tapering to a full bodied experience that can convince anyone of the province of fine Californian wine!

Started the night with the 2018. This year also had scents of walnuts, boysenberry and a bit of barnyard, but extended into cigar smoke. The texture and color were both excellent and the flavors were full bodied spanning from boysenberry, through leather, into seared steak, but also had cigar/tobacco. Enjoyed by all.
