New release New release of Caymus' 2018 Cabernet now available! Caymus makes one of Napa Valley's most popular Cabernet Sauvignons and the 2018 is another stellar wine. previous vintage 94 Points Robert Parker: "The Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley has a dense opaque purple color, a kiss of blackberry and cassis fruit, a full-bodied mouthfeel with ripe tannin and a long finish. It is very Caymus in its immediate accessibility, but has plenty of staying power and depth. This is lush, full, intense and pure. Drink it over the next 15 or so years." Caymus Vineyards produces two Cabernets Sauvignons – a “Napa Valley” and the venerable “Special Selection”. Both Cabernet bottlings have aromas and flavors which can only be achieved through “hang time” – a technique which chances the loss of crop if early winter sets in. Leaving the fruit to “hang” on the vine unusually long develops suppleness, increases color, and matures the tannins of the grapes. The wines are abundant in textural tannins yet soft as velvet. Crop thinning, allowing measured sunlight to reach the vine’s fruit zone, and waiting for increased ripeness are all part of our viticultural practices. Caymus Cabernets offer a wide array of aromas and flavors including cocoa, cassis and vanilla. The new Caymus 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley release is one of the best cabs in years!

End of the nite wine..typical caymus, blackberry pie, medium acid, could taste some RS…but easy to drink, crowd pleaser…

Just tasted ‘18. Dark Ruby with aromas of ripe berry fruit and floral spice, pure Caymus signature style, easy drinking, as always. On the palate flavors of ripe blackberry, black cherry and currants with complex spice showing notes of cacao, cinnamon and rich vanilla oak. Fine soft tannins, nice mouthfeel, great balance with acidity, long finish, ending with notes of oak and mineral notes. Nice!

Due to the sheer quantity of this juice that we have on hand, this has become our go-to weekend travel wine

Deep ruby/purple in color with a nose of black cherries, boysenberries, eucalyptus, wet gravel, and a touch of coffee. Full-bodied and smooth, the wine has a unique taste I can’t quite put my finger on. Not sure if my taste buds are off or if the bottle has a flaw. Will taste again later to compare. Update - My tastebuds are fine. Compared with SL Artemis and something is off on this bottle. May return.

Smooth, dark fruit, not tannic, seems like they added some residual sugar. Decent wine but for the price tag..... no thanks.

Smooth and full flavored. Flavors of vanilla with a sweetness some may like a lot.

Had scents of walnuts, boysenberry and a bit of barnyard. The texture and color were both excellent and the flavors were full bodied spanning from boysenberry, through leather, and into seared steak.

Decanted. Deep inky color. Big bouquet of dusty, spicy berries. Cherries and berries on the tongue, then feeds to plums blackberries, and other darker fruits. Some oak and chocolate on the back. Minimal tannins. Not very acidic. Big and lush and Silky.
