A Brix26 exclusive! A tiny 50 cases were made, one of the top Barolos of the 2010 vintage. Extremely limited. 95 Points Wine Spectator: "Offers a beautiful nose of sweet and salty licorice, with flavors of fading cherry, leather, tobacco and spice. Complex and maturing, yet the tannins and acidity keep this fresh. The lingering finish evokes tobacco and mineral. Best from 2020 through 2036. 50 cases made." The 2010 vintage is one of the finest on record for Barolo. Robert Parker rated the 2010 vintage 98 points overall, the best in recent memory, and now is the perfect time to stock up. Even better is that this wine is superbly structured, but forward and approachable now; no need to cellar it for 20+ years.

Drank 11/5/21. Presently I am dealing with sneezing and nasal congestion from a cold my youngest gifted me. I am not able to properly provide tasting notes, but can assess the the nose includes the traditional tar and roses, and the palate seems well balanced. Tannins seem integrated as well. I'm guessing that this would be somewhere between an 89-92 so we will call it 91.

Celebration wine (paid off the Tundra).... This is layered and evolving, with a nose of tobacco smoke, tar, black plum, cherry kirsch, dried violet and rose, bay leaf, sage, anise, and blackcherry. Round, sweeter dark berry and cherry fruit on the palate. Structure builds in mouthcoating tannin balanced by rich acidity. Spice box, leather and tar on the mid-palate. Acidity is still fresh, almost tart, and lifts a finish that is balanced and lingers for 60+ seconds. Underripe cherry and gravel. A touch of warmth speaks to the vintage and comune. This over-delivers at the price point with outstanding complexity, depth and length. Hold for 3-5 more years, then enjoy over an evening.
