This is just the second release of Carter Cellar's Weitz Vineyard Cabernet and we are excited about the opportunity to work with this pedigreed Oakville hillside vineyard. Limited. 95 Points Robert Parker: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Weitz Vineyard has a more earthy nose, an inky, black/purple color, Pauillac-like licorice, graphite and charcoal, beautiful, ripe fruit in the mouth, tremendously generous and opulent. This is an amazing Cabernet Sauvignon to drink over the next 25 years... ...Carter Cellars has been on a qualitative tear in tastings I’ve done over the last 4-5 years, so it was with great anticipation and high expectations I sat down to taste the 2013s and barrel samples of the 2014s given what Mark Carter had achieved not only in 2012, but even in more challenging vintages such as 2011. Fasten your seatbelts!.

Another terrific Deer Valley ski trip wine. Even the shitty stemware at the rental condo couldn’t hold this wine back.

Very nice, but maybe not quite the depth I was expecting. But that’s more a problem with my expectations than with the wine.

The flavors here are really good but the wine was a little thin and lacked a silky mouthfeel which I prefer. This was my first Carter and having heard so much about these wines I was a little let down. I also was overly excited to try this given Maybach sources from the same vineyard (which set my expectations even higher).
