Carlisle Winery & Vineyards Palisades Vineyard Petite Sirah 2016

$49.99

97 points - limited                         Fantastic new Petite Sirah release from Carlisle, one of our favorite small producers! Very limited - only 500 cases produced. 97 Points Robert Parker:  "One hundred percent Petite Sirah from vines planted in 1968, the 2016 Petite Sirah Palisade Vineyard is very deep purple-black in color with very pretty notes of lilacs, black and red cherries, mulberries and sandalwood with hints of menthol and fragrant earth. Full-bodied, refreshing and elegant, it has a gorgeous texture of firm, fine-grained tannins and tons of perfumed black fruit layers, finishing long and minerally. 515 cases produced... ...A great success story, Mike Officer’s Carlisle Winery continues to not only protect heritage old-vine sites in Northern California, but to also turn out a bevy of realistically priced, delicious, consumer-friendly wines, primarily from Zinfandel, although Officer can also turn a trick or two with Grenache, Petite Sirah and Syrah."

Wow! This is my favorite PS! Right from the pour, it is dark inky midnight black color. Massive black and blue fruits with spice. Lip smacking tannins. This will easily last two decades plus. Which is good since I have some of these for my daughters 21st birthday. Had to try one today for her 2nd birthday.
