Cakebread Cellars Two Creeks Vineyards Pinot Noir 2015

$54.99

A rare Pinot from Cakebread!             A rare Pinot Noir release from Cakebread - get it while it's available! One hundred percent of the grapes for this wine came from Cakebread's estate vineyard near Boonville in the southern end of Anderson Valley.  Masculine in style with dense, brooding, black plum, dark chocolate, vanilla and roasted coffee aromas. The full-bodied palate is lush and textured, with layers of mouthfilling dark fruit and chocolate-tinged flavors balanced by ripe, supple tannins. Delicious now with hearty fare, this big, youthful Pinot Noir will soften and gain further complexity with another 3 to 5 years of bottle age.

So good. Slightly sweet. Much heavier than most Pinot noirs but very very smooth. Love it!

Over 30 years ago, Jack Cakebread came to photograph the Napa Valley for a book, one thing led to another and he found himself making an offer on the vineyard that later became Cakebread Cellars. Wonderful fruit aromas with soft spice notes. Cherry and raspberry flavors with black tea spice, pepper and mineral tones. Fine tannins, great mouthfeel and balance. Give this more time to develop.

Fuller bodied than your typical PN. Tart cherry preserve undertones and finish with grilled Smoky sourdough bread and french roast coffee notes that are dominant upfront. It has a jammy like mouthfeel, but not overtly fruity.
