CADE is Plumpjack's hot new winery on Howell Mountain. Limited. 96 Points Robert Parker: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is huge. A blast of dark red fruit, flowers, savory herbs and tar explode on the palate. The 2010 combines the flavor profile of the 2008 with some of the silkiness of the 2009. It shows fabulous intensity and tons of grace in a big, broad-shouldered style that is immensely appealing. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. ...This is a very strong set of wines from Cade, the Howell Mountain sister property of Plumpjack. Winemaker Tony Biagi and his team have crafted a gorgeous set of 2009s and 2010s. The wines are very different stylistically, yet quite similar in terms of quality. The Howell Mountain bottling includes purchased fruit and a dollop of Merlot. The Estate bottling is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, naturally from the estate’s own vineyards, and tends to be vinified with 100% natural malos. Both wines are striking....Danielle Cyrot, formerly of St. Clement, is the new winemaker at Cade beginning in 2012. Things continue to be in a state of evolution at this property, which is part of the Plumpjack group."Brix26 Inside Scoop: PlumpJack's new winery, Cade, is up on Napa Valley's Howell Mountain and is turning out some fantastricly rich mountain Cabernets. On your next visit to the Napa Valley we recommend a visit to taste their wines from the stunning views at the winery.

Nose of bing cherries with a hint of cardboard. Palate is still fruit-forward with overripe cherries, sandalwood, and coffee notes. Cardboard is noticeable on the palate, too. Enjoyable, but past it’s sell by date, even though it has been well stored.

Still young, but has major promise. Great balance of fruit and acidity with tannins to match, this wine shod age beautifully

Had this so many times. It's great. Tasted over two days. It held firm throughout.

This wine has a deep,, opulent nose characterized by barrel toast and ripe maraschino cherries. Palette is dense with ripe tannins and serious complexity. Rich dark fruits and sweet oak excite the mid palette. The wine finished a touch tart, which detracts from the overall experience. Still excellent.

Black currant preserves, smoke, rises, violets, black pepper, plums, mint, bay leaf, clove, mint, tobacco, kirsch. Delicious roasted fruit and cocoa on the palette, mixed with earth and surprising acidity. Tannins are fine and well integrated. Give it another two years.
