Bryant Family Vineyard Bettina Proprietary Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2010

$439.99

Extremely limited new release from cult producer Bryant Family. 97+ Points Robert Parker:  "The 2010 Bettina is drop dead gorgeous. Mint, cloves, flowers, menthol and licorice are some of the many notes that burst from the glass. The 2010 is all about nuance, delineation and precision. There is a vibrancy to the 2010 that is simply striking. Dark blue and black fruit, balsamic notes, crushed rocks and pencil shavings are all layered into the powerful, mineral-infused finish. This is a stellar showing from Bryant. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2030... ...Perched on Pritchard Hill above the shores of Lake Hennessey, Bryant is without question one of the most spectacular vineyards in Napa Valley. I don’t see any reason why the Cabernets that emerge from this property shouldn’t be among the top 5-10 wines in the valley each and every year, but continuity is the key to making that happen. Following the departure of Helen Turley in 2002, Bryant has employed Philippe Melka, Mark Aubert, Ross Wallace, Helen Keplinger and now Todd Alexander, who took over in October 2012."

Queen concert weekend in San Jose! 1 hour decant (lots of fine sediment). A compelling dark red/purple. On the nose: black fruit, eucalyptus, veggies, cedar, earthy....all jump from the glass. Taste: rich and full mouthfeel with black cherry/plum, gravel, chocolat..nice medium finish..drinking well right now

Dacanted 1 hour(very little sediment). Still a dark brooding black/purple color at this age. On the nose: black fruit, mint, cedar, stewed prunes, green veggies. Taste: black cherry/black plum, graphite, crushed rock, tobacco, nice long mouth feel with just a little tannin at the end to still be resolved.

2010 Bryant Family Bettina - Much more approachable than Bryant, softer mouthful as its a blend with Cab, Merlot, Petite Verdot, Cab Franc ... Love the full bodied jammy, coffee and berry flavors. Nose is incredible. Softer tannins than Bryant. 2010 is singing and should be for awhile.
