Booker Vineyard Vertigo Paso Robles Grenache Blend 2016

$79.99

97 pts - rare                                  New release from Paso cult producer Booker Vineyards. As always, limited. Vertigo aims to be a traditional Rhone blend, a “G-S-M”. We ferment a portion of this wine whole cluster and use stem inclusion to add a bit to its character in terms of tannin and spice. We named this wine ‘Vertigo’ in jest for one of Booker's steepest hillsides that grows Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre.. Robert Parker:  "...As I've commented in the past, the wines from Eric Jensen at Booker are some of the most impressive releases coming out of California. While in the past, they relied on pure fruit and texture to impress, today they possess layered, elegant and complex characters paired with serious depth, richness and structure. While 2013 -2015 are all great vintages at this estate, the 2014s have more noticeable tannic grip and really deserve 2-3 years or more of cellaring."

Consistently a very solid GSM. Open about an hour and it’s ready to roll!
