Bloodroot Cellars Coastal Pinot Noir 2018

$19.99

New!                                                                   Inaugural release! Utilizing different fruit sources mostly throughout Sonoma County (but also neighboring counties of Marin and Mendocino), the BloodRoot winemakers created a Pinot Noir blend that effortlessly melds cool, coastal Pinot elegance with the velvety polish of culty high-end Pinot producers. 93 Points Wine Enthusiast: "This wine is a secret collaboration between several winemakers with great vineyard sourcing who have come together here to make a masterful, value-minded blend. The majority of the grapes come from Russian River Valley, with others from Sonoma Coast, Marin, Anderson Valley and Bennett Valley. Tea, earth, stone and herb tones enliven a core of cranberry and rhubarb, offering length and depth. The tannins are velvety smooth and seductive."

Very nice CA Pinot for the price. Fruit forward a tiny hint of forest. Some acidity but mostly tart fruits. Hint of oak. It reminds me of Sonoma/Russian river Pinot and I’ve had many that taste like this but sell for 45-65 dollars.

The French Oak gives this a silky or smooth taste. If someone gave me this to drink, I would have it. But I would not go out of my way for it, as it does not have the more traditional Pinot Noir profile that I prefer.

Lively acidity that dances on your tongue, surprising tannins, and a hunt of blood orange and strawberry.
