A blockbuster new Pinot from Caymus! Belle Glos is a partnership between Chuck Wagner and his son, winemaker Joseph Wagner. They make Belle Glos Pinot Noir from single vineyards, this one from the Las Alturas Vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands. A very rich & complex, fruit-forward stye Pinot that would go as well with steak as it would salmon dishes. The smallest production Belle Glos Pinot available! Get the new release before the ratings come out. Deep ruby red in color with intriguing aromas of sun-warmed blackberries, ripe plums, with hints of black licorice. A complexity of dark berry fruits unfold on the palate; blackberries and bing cherries along with dark chocolate flavors. Vanilla and cedar oak undertones on the mid-palate further enhance the wine. The overall impression is rich with refined tannins, firm acidity and explosive layers of ripe fruit.

Pinotfiles lament this wine, a scandalous PN with the heart of a Napa cab. I loved serving it beside the Ken Wright PN just to show in 2 sips the range of great wine that can come from this amazing grape. Rich, unctuous and always a crowd pleaser. Immense dark cherry concentration with a woodsy tannin length in a smooth and sexy package. Serve this blind and have fun with people.

When drinking young Belle Glos presents a rich and concentrated rendition of PN, which is not to everyone’s liking. With some ages in the bottle, it has evolved nicely. Chocolate and vanilla notes have subsided where mushroom and wet leaves emerge. The palate becomes even more smoother while the acidity still feels fresh. From magnum. Really nice developments.

At PnP was a fruit bomb. After an hour open, opened up and nice fruit at front gives way to some tobacco and black pepper. Really like that. This is more me than the BG Clark and telephone for sure.
