Another blockbuster Pinot Noir from Belle Glos! This single vineyard Belle Glos Pinot Noir comes from the Las Alturas Vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands. A very rich & complex, fruit-forward stye Pinot that would go as well with steak as it would salmon dishes. Get the new release before the ratings come out. Deep ruby red in color with intriguing aromas of sun-warmed blackberries, ripe plums, with hints of black licorice. A complexity of dark berry fruits unfold on the palate; blackberries and bing cherries along with dark chocolate flavors. Vanilla and cedar oak undertones on the mid-palate further enhance the wine. The overall impression is rich with refined tannins, firm acidity and explosive layers of ripe fruit. The winery is named after Lorna Belle Glos Wagner, co-founder of Caymus Vineyards and grandmother of owner-winemaker Joe Wagner.

I like this wine because when you taste it, your are pushed into a foreign pinot sanctum. A world where pinot takes on a different meaning. It’s just very different. It’s a paradox, and maybe primitive, but for my wife and I. It does have utility. Day 2 and it’s still a fruit bomb. Sweet, textured and decadent. I shud have remarked that I pay less than $30 for it!
