Belle Glos Dairyman Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2015

$54.99

New release!  The Dairyman Vineyard Pinot Noir is the newest addition to the Belle Glos lineup.   The 2015 Belle Glos Dairyman Vineyard Pinot Noir, sourced from the southern alluvial plains of Russian River Valley, where the proximity to the Pacific Ocean creates cool morning fog and afternoon breezes resulting in an uncommonly long growing season. Once an old dairy farm and pastureland, this site has since realized its true potential as a prime Pinot Noir vineyard.  Tasting Notes:  The color is quite striking, with the brilliant red ruby hue hinting at the luscious fruit to come. The aromas are abundant with bright cherry, cranberry and brown spice, reminiscent of warm cinnamon toast topped with plum jam. On the palate, the bright cherry opens the show, then evolves into a lush, sweetly spiced plum pudding, coating the mouth with a velvety richness. The acidity is as vibrant as the color, lifting the medley of fruit to lavish heights and augmenting the spicy tones. The wine then develops an intense mineral note, adding yet another dimension, lending way to silky tannins and a lengthy finish that will leave you wanting more.

The closest Pinot Noir will ever get to full bodied. Beautiful and ephemeral, same league as Las Alturas and Clark & Telephone. Love this wine. Glad I bought a case.

Has an olive character that I am not crazy about. It dissipates with some air time.

Good. No headache after. Would probably pair well with pumpkin, squashes, eggplant, pork, and beans.

Good Pinot; tannins on the front end with a taste of cherry and minerals on the back.
