Belle Glos Dairyman Vineyard Pinot Noir 2012 (1500ml)

$99.99

Rare MAGNUM (1.5L) now available.  The Dairyman Vineyard Pinot Noir is the newest addition to the Belle Glos lineup.   2012 is just the third release of Dairyman Vineyard Pinot Noir, sourced from the southern alluvial plains of Russian River Valley, where the proximity to the Pacific Ocean creates cool morning fog and afternoon breezes resulting in an uncommonly long growing season. Once an old dairy farm and pastureland, this site has since realized its true potential as a prime Pinot Noir vineyard.  Tasting Notes:  The color is quite striking, with the brilliant red ruby hue hinting at the luscious fruit to come. The aromas are abundant with bright cherry, cranberry and brown spice, reminiscent of warm cinnamon toast topped with plum jam. On the palate, the bright cherry opens the show, then evolves into a lush, sweetly spiced plum pudding, coating the mouth with a velvety richness. The acidity is as vibrant as the color, lifting the medley of fruit to lavish heights and augmenting the spicy tones. The wine then develops an intense mineral note, adding yet another dimension, lending way to silky tannins and a lengthy finish that will leave you wanting more.

If you like a big jammy Pinot, this is a perfect choice. Looking for nuanced fruit and earth? Time to move on.

The best Belle Glos in my opinion. It's like a big piece of mixed berry pie. Dense and dark. not really Pinot Noir but you have to go into it knowing that.

Less Bing cherry than most Russian River pinot noirs. Darker than most, as well, with a coma background. As our friend calls it.. Cougar Juice...

Deep dark fruits, especially plum. Perhaps a mustard taste. Lovely bouquet of apples and cherry. A big Russian River Valley Pinot.
