Belle Glos Clark & Telephone Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017

$49.99

A blockbuster new Pinot from Caymus! Belle Glos is a partnership between Chuck Wagner and his son, winemaker Joseph Wagner. They make Belle Glos Pinot Noir from single vineyards, this one from the Clark & Telephone Vineyard in the Santa Maria Valley. A very rich & complex, fruit-forward stye Pinot that would go as well with steak as it would salmon dishes. The smallest production Belle Glos Pinot available! "Odedi" Delectable Pro

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim. Very fruity on the nose and full bodied with medium minus acidity. Dry to off dry on the palate with nice complexity. Showing black currants, blackberries, cooked plums, oak, vanilla, dried fruits, licorice, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, spices, light herbs and peppercorn. Short finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries. This 8 year old Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara County is still drinking very nicely, but will not get better from this point. Complex and easy drinking. Fruit forward with a touch of RS. Rich and extracted with a mouth coating feel. A nice sipping wine. 14.6% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $50.

Winemaker Joseph J. Wagner is a 4th generation winemaker from a family with farming and winemaking roots in the Napa Valley since 1906. Met Joe several times. Deep Ruby with red berry fruit aromas and sweet spice notes. The palate shows raspberry and jammy blackberry with sweet oak, cacao and espresso notes. Soft tannins and acidity, well balanced, with mineral tones on a long spicy finish. Nice!
