Belle Glos Clark & Telephone Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015

A blockbuster new Pinot from Caymus! Belle Glos is a partnership between Chuck Wagner and his son, winemaker Joseph Wagner. They make Belle Glos Pinot Noir from single vineyards, this one from the Clark & Telephone Vineyard in the Santa Maria Valley. A very rich & complex, fruit-forward stye Pinot that would go as well with steak as it would salmon dishes. The smallest production Belle Glos Pinot available! Had another bottle on vacation. Bright Ruby with aromas of sweet red fruit and herb spice. On the palate red fruit flavors of sweet raspberries and cranberries with some cinnamon spice and smoky oak very well balanced, soft tannins and perfect acidity. Lingering finish ending with earthy tones and mineral notes. Aged well after about a year but some more time in the bottle will benefit.

Very herbal and medicinal at first. Blows off and shows you a decadent layer of lush red Pinot fruit. Not my style, but nevertheless satisfying. @Pignetti's Restaurant, Temple TX

Over extracted. Flabby. No acidity. Couldn't even finish it.

Fantastic Pinot, just like the 2014. Powerful fruit, smooth like a cab, delicious.

The house style is still here with ripe, slightly over extracted blue fruits, baking spices, cocoa, and a plush velvety palate. But the fruits become less confectionary and some savory components have emerged. Acidity seems more apparent. Really nice integration. I think Pinot bottlings from Belle Glos are at their best with 5-8 years bottle aging. This is another proof.

High dark stone fruits. Grows better with every sip and bite. On the heavier side of Pinots but pleasantly surprised.
