Bedrock Winery is producing some of the most exciting new releases we've tasted in California and the 2011 Kick Ranch Syrah is a great discovery - only 125 cases madeGlass-staining purple. A full-blown, fruit-dominated bouquet displays blueberry, boysenberry and smoky Indian spices. Lush and creamy in texture, offering nearly liqueur-like black and blue fruit flavors framed by supple tannins. The spicy note returns on the finish, which is smooth, broad and impressively persistent. This will drink well young. No stems were used in making this wine.

Motherf*cker! Thought I grabbed a @BedrockWineCo North Coast. Wife opened before I caught my error. Well, this is is delicious. Tastes like I'm a lion eating a zebra thigh in a blackberry bush...

One day I hope to make Syrah as good as this one. Morgan nails it again.

From the Kick Ranch vineyard in Fountaingrove district that wasn't an AVA at the time (but it is since 2015), so labeled "Sonoma County". 12% whole clusters. 95% Syrah and 5% Viognier. Dark red with medium depth, turning slightly orange at the rim. Attractive nose, very Northern Rhône-like, with ripe black fruits and a subtle hint of lavender and thyme. Juicy black fruits, very straightforward and fresh. Not the most complex wine, but simply irresistible. Nice spicy finish and good length.2011 vintage. Abv. 14,6%, 36 euro (about 40 $).

Morgan’s Syrahs continue to thrill me with each’s ability to age well...strong, dark fruit aromatics and palette makes me wish for more

Very Cote-Rotie-like with lavender notes, focused minerality, elegant blue/black fruit and finely textured tannic feel. Absolutely fantastic with a risotto app and bison tenderloin. Ranger Smith should approve!

Last wine of the night. Popped and poured after all the decanted wines ran dry. Excellent with many good years ahead of it.
