Hot new producer Banshee is the hot new California Pinot Noir producer. Try this new gem while it's still available. Antononio Galloni (Vinous): "The Banshee Pinot Noir (Sonoma County) is a pretty, attractive wine to drink now and over the next few years. Sweet red cherry and floral notes grace the mid-weight, feminine finish. This is a very pretty, understated appellation Pinot that delivers a compelling combination of quality, value and production. The Sonoma County is a blend of declassified barrels and some purchased fruit." Excellent Pinot Noir at an excellent price point is the holy grail in California wine. Banshee has aced it, sourcing from some of the best AVAs in California for their Sonoma County bottling that represents a best buy. The 2018 Sonoma County Pinot Noir is the sixth vintage from the enterprising team at Banshee Wines. A large percentage of it is still sourced from the Sonoma Coast, often declassified barrels from vineyards that close followers of top-tier West Coast Pinot may recognize.

A amooth high QPR 2018 drinking in 2024. Notes of Cherry and pomegranate woth a hint of vanilla / oak. This will please everyone...it's not super complex but nice with BBQ and roaste veggies

Just tried the ‘18, winery founded by 3 friends Noah Dorrance, Baron Ziegler, & Steve Graf who shared a lifelong dream of owning their own winery. First vintage of Pinot Noir, produced in 2009 was sold out in 3 months. Deep Ruby with red berry fruit aromas & notes of floral scents. On the palate ripe red plum, currant & cherry flavors with pepper spice. Soft tannins, good balance with acidity, medium+ ending with a mineral character. Drink now, as with prior vintages no aging potential!

I think this isn’t my favorite vintage but Banshee remains a delight. Cherry Vanilla Coke for the wine lover. Texture of silk weight of...let’s call it thin wool. Soothing. Just interesting enough to keep me going and effortless enough to pay attention to my date.

well balanced with a tartness tease, this pinot noir is friendly as described. light and bright throughout and not missing a beat on the underlying notes of earth, herbs, and hint of spice. in mythology the banshee is a female spirit that wails in warning, the spirit in this wine will have you relaxing and letting your cares drift away.

Color of light burgundy, bubbly and clear. Nose of nice aldehyde, ripe raspberry, wet mushroom, a bit cinnamon and soda powder, and a bit savory spice. Nose is very good. Taste follows nose with addition of bitter zest, a bit metallic note, peppery, and some more sweetness from berries. Aftertaste is medium long. Pretty good.

A bit diluted, but nice enough cherry/raspberry flavor with, surprisingly, a bit of maple syrup to the aftertaste. Not sure I’d rebuy, but no buyer’s remorse either.
